All About Me
Hello!
My name is Curtis J. Mickens Jr.
I'm sure I'm just like you in many ways. I love music, art, and nature. I am an excellent cook, and I talk way too much. I am laughing, but its true.
I was born and raised in Memphis Tennessee. A large sum of the things that I was exposed to, academically, in my youth has tailored me to have a passion for education. After graduating third in my senior class from Melrose High School in 2015, I moved to Clarksville, Tennessee to pursue a degree in education. May of 2019 I received my Bachelors degree in Middle School Mathematical Instruction (6-8) from Austin Peay State University here in Clarksville Tennessee.

During my time at Austin Peay I made strong connections to the youth and minority of Montgomery County. I understand first hand the struggles that so many children face. I realized that I once was them. This is what led me to New Providence Middle. It is my passion to build up every child that I can while teaching them to embrace their inner self and hone in on their mathematical skills. I strongly believe that every student has the power to achieve greatness, no matter the disadvantages that societal aspects may put on them. It is my goal to give them the knowledge, courage, and will power to achieve what some may call "the unachievable".
